Olga is a professional gardener and flower artist in Suffolk. Her focus is on sustainable practice with respect for nature and seasonal flora availability. She carefully grows and gathers unusual flowers for her creations.
Her horticultural interest has her led to explore Japanese ways of gardening and Ikebana study.
Olga's workshop will focus on using plant materials available in March, creating a sculptural arrangement using the Niwaki kenzan flower frog and exploring a non traditional western approach to flower composition .
Olga will show the best practical use of the kenzan, along with other tools, and how to make a simple expressive flower arrangement that will feed the spirit.
You will then design your own flower composition that is structural and balanced but showing the individual characters of the components and a good use of colours in space .
We will also discuss conditioning the flowers that will be used on the day, their vase life, significance and best use .
Snips can be loaned (or purchased on the day at a 20% discount ) or if preferred feel free to bring your own.
