Susan Bottrell is an American-French artist living and working in Paris. Her work weaves the themes of memory and time. From her paintings she has created luxurious silk scarves to make a beautiful, wearable piece of art.
La Vie en Rose’, like the Edith Piaf song of the same title, evokes the beauty and love of the everyday despite life’s setbacks. Reflecting this sentiment, the scarf changes its color and mood whenlight hits its surface. The original painting that inspired this scarf was based on a series of hand-written letters, knitting together the threads of past and present.
IVRE Paris is really an extension of Susan's studio practice. For her, making art is a way of making meaning, out of what she sees, feels and experiences in life.
