Founded in the south of France in 1857 by Pierre Jars, a man  with a  vision  to combine beauty with utility the same ethos remains today and Jars continue to create outstanding and original handmade ceramics.

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is about appreciating what is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete"

Wabi refers to the kind of beauty found in asymmetrical, uneven or unbalanced things, sabi refers to the beauty of age and patina.

The Wabi collection celebrates artisanal purity and simplicity, rough and textured materials and hand-made production.

Many shapes are asymmetric, the rough, highly tactile un-glazed areas contrast perfectly with the glazed parts which are subtly coloured, layered and exquisitely textured.

Material: Glazed stoneware, non-porous lead and cadmium free. High intensity firing at 1280°C: for strength and great durability. 

Seidou colours: Olive, black, peat, stone
